What to consider when buying walker/rollator hand grips

When you get a conventional walker, it will usually have plastic rollator grips. However, plastic does not offer comfort, and your hands can slide when walking, increasing the risk of falls.

Rollator grip materials

Hand grips on conventional rollators are often made with just one material, while the handgrips on the Trionic rollators and walkers use at least two different materials. The reason for this is added safety and comfort. The part of the grip you put your weight on needs to be made from a material with more friction, whilst the underside is made of a more grip-friendly rubber. The rubber design ensures the handles on your walker prevent slippage.

Rollator grip patterns

Users with poor grip strength need to consider rollator grips with a better pattern or texture.
